The environmental contribution
Your accommodation is settled through the channel you booked with. Nothing further is owed for the room.
There is one separate item, Malta's environmental contribution, sometimes called the eco-tax.
Malta levies a small environmental contribution on every stay in licensed accommodation. It is set by the Malta Tourism Authority, not by us, and by law it must be charged separately from your room rate.
- €1.50 per person, per night
- Applies only to guests aged 18 or over at the start of the visit. Children and under-18s are exempt
- Capped at €22.50 per person, per visit (the first 15 nights)
- Not subject to VAT
You can settle it during your online check-in.
Including well in advance, if you'd prefer it done and forgotten. It's a single step in the check-in flow.

A note on payment safety
We will never ask for your card details by WhatsApp, SMS or email. Every payment happens either through your booking channel or through our own secure check-in system.
If you receive a message asking you to pay us any other way, please don't act on it. Message us and we'll confirm.
Getting here from the airport
A private transfer meets you at arrivals and brings you directly to our door: no queue, no navigating, no luggage on a bus. Book it during online check-in, or message us if you've already checked in. Return transfers for departure day are available too.

Come whenever you like
You are very welcome to come to us before 2:00 PM.
- Leave your luggage with us at reception. Arrive straight from the airport, drop your bags, and go and explore.
- If your room is ready ahead of time, you're welcome to go straight in. Housekeeping works through the morning, so early access is often possible. We simply can't promise it in advance.
Let us know your approximate arrival time and we'll do what we can.
Please note our check-out time
Check-out is 11:00 AM, and we are unable to offer late check-out.
With only four rooms and a single housekeeping window, every departure has to clear by 11:00 for the next guest's room to be ready.
Tell us early
The small things make the difference, and they're much easier to arrange with notice than on the day. Before you travel, please let us know:
- Dietary requirements or allergies, so breakfast works for you from the first morning
- Your approximate arrival time, particularly if you're arriving late or very early
- An airport transfer, if you'd like one
- Anything else at all: an occasion you're celebrating, or mobility needs

When to come, and what to pack
Malta is a year-round destination, but the seasons feel quite different.
Spring
March to May
Mild and green, roughly 16 to 24°C. The countryside around Rabat is in flower and the light is beautiful. Warm afternoons, cool evenings.
Pack: layers, a light jacket for the evening, comfortable walking shoes.
Summer
June to September
Hot, dry and reliably sunny, 28 to 35°C, sometimes more in August. The sea is at its warmest and evenings stay warm well past midnight.
Pack: linen and cotton, a hat, high-factor sun cream, swimwear, sunglasses, a refillable water bottle.
Autumn
October to November
Still warm into October, cooling through November. Around 20 to 27°C early on. The sea remains swimmable well into October. Occasional heavy but short-lived showers.
Pack: light layers, a packable rain jacket.
Winter
December to February
Mild by European standards, 12 to 17°C, but damp and windy, and Maltese limestone buildings can feel cool. Quiet, atmospheric, and Mdina at its most magical.
Pack: warm layers, a proper jacket, an umbrella.
All year round
- Comfortable walking shoes. Mdina and Rabat are limestone, cobbles and slopes. Lovely, but not kind to thin soles.
- Modest cover for churches. Shoulders and knees should be covered to enter St Paul's Cathedral and most other churches. A light scarf does the job.
- A UK-style plug adapter if you're coming from mainland Europe. Malta runs on 240V with British 3-pin sockets.
